What trading services will be provided via the electronic trading system “MPTrader” of Mayfair Pacific Financial Group (‘Mayfair Pacific’)?

Ans: 

If you maintain a trading account with Mayfair Pacific, you can trade in securities primarily listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and global futures contracts via MPTrader of Mayfair Pacific. The opening of a trading account is free of charge.

What is the brokerage commissions chargeable by Mayfair Pacific?

Ans: 

Mayfair Pacific charges brokerage commission at the rate of   0.25% on the transaction amount subject to the minimum of HKD100, which is applicable to both trading via MPTrader or through instructions issued over the telephone to account executives.


3.

What are the securities and futures account opening procedures?

Ans: 

Please refer to the section on “Account Opening Notice”.

 

4.

Which kind of trading confirmation and statement will be provided by Mayfair Pacific?

Ans: 

You will receive daily statement by post or email for transaction confirmation, and the monthly statement will be issued only if there is any cash balance or holding in your trading account.



5.

What are the real time stock price quotation services provided by Mayfair Pacific?

Ans: 

We provide 2 kinds of real time stock price quotation services, namely  “AASTOCKS” service which is free of charge, and “streaming quotation” service with fees chargeable at HK$398 per month.

Ans: 

MPTrader has adopted the highest encryption standard and Firewall measures to ensure your personal information is highly protected.  We suggest the use of the following: .

You should pay attention to the following issues:

a)

Password Verification - You must enter your own Login ID and password for identity verification.

b)

Inactive Timeout - You may set your preferable inactive timeout in MPTrader for re-entry into the system to prevent unauthorised access to your account.

How can I safeguard against unauthorised use of my passwords?

Ans: 

It is important to safeguard against unauthorised use of your Login ID and password(s) as they are used to verify your identity at the time of access. We recommend you to change your Login Password at least once every month. When selecting a password, you should pay attention to the following issues:

a) No interval or special symbol in the middle of password (e.g. @#$)

b) 8 characters or above, can be combined by English letters or numbers

c) Cannot repeat use of the past password

What should I do if I forget, lose my password or password has become invalid after input of wrong password for 5 times?

Ans: 

A written request with your signature must be made in order to disable and re-issue a new password, by:

1. visiting our Company Office in person or

2. contacting our Client Service Officer by post or via our Client Service Hotline at (852) 3192-1110 during business hours.

After we have received your request and verified your identity, we will disable your current password immediately. If you visit our company office in person, we will give you the new password immediately. If you submit the request by post or via our Client Service Hotline, we will send a new password to you at your correspondence address within 3 business days.


Trading

1.

What is the pre-opening session?

Ans: 

The Securities Pre-Opening session of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited is the 30 minutes before the morning trading session.

According to Broker Supplied System (BSS), the Pre-opening Session comprises of four different periods are as follows:

Input of limit orders and at-auction orders.
Orders may be modified or cancelled.
Pre-Order Matching Period (5 minutes)

No input, modification or cancellation of limit orders for matching period.
At-auction orders can only be placed, cannot be modified or cancelled.
The limit orders are stored in the BSS system and issued in the continuous trading session.
Order Matching Period
9:20 am - 9:28 am
Order will be matched at the final Indicative Equilibrium Price (IEP).
Blocking Period (10 minutes)
9:28 am - 9:30 am
A break between the Pre-opening and the Continuous Trading Session.
No input, modification or cancellation of orders.
Allow enter, change or cancel limit orders, and all orders will be stored in the BSS system and issued in the continuous trading session.

The final Indicative Equilibrium Price (IEP) will be used as the market-opening price for the corresponding security.

2.

What are the order selections provided by MPTrader?

Ans: 

You can place the “today order”, but if “today order” cannot be executed at the end of trading day, the order will be cancelled automatically. During the Continuous Trading sessions, you can place “Stop Order”, “Up/Down Trigger”, “Hit/Join Market”, “OCO” orders etc. in order to facilitate your trading.


3.

What is the maximum number of board lots that I can place in a single buy or sell order?

Ans: 

You can place a maximum of 3,000 board lots in a single buy or sell order through MPTrader.


4.

What is the range of spreads when placing B share orders?

Ans: 

During the Continuous Trading Period, you can invest on Hong Kong Stock by set the Upper / Lower Limit for Buy or Sell Orders at Not high / lower than 24 spreads below the current bid price.


5.

Can client short sell stock via MPTrader?

Ans: 

No, we do not allow stock short sell.


6.

Can client sell stock odd lot via MPTrader?

Ans: 

No, we do not allow stock odd lot. You can call our dealer at (852) 3192 1108 for selling stock odd lot.


7.

What is the meaning of “(*)” sign in the “Position” section at “Account Info” window?

Ans: 

(*) represent the current stock price has not been updated in the “Position” section. You can select the stock at the “Market Price” window, then the latest stock price will be displayed.


8.

What will happen if the order is partially filled?

Ans: 

The unexecuted orders will be canceled by the end of the day. For Buy Order, the purchased portion will be deposited into your account; for Sell Order, the unexecuted part of the stock will be kept in your account.


9.

How to set trading confirmation in our MPTrader system?

Ans: 

You can open the window of “General Settings” in the “Settings” window, then you can set whether to receive “Order Confirm” and other alerts. In addition, you can check the latest 3 days trade records in the “Trade Log” window.


10.

Under what circumstances will my placed order be rejected?

Ans: 

Trade order may be rejected under following conditions:

a) Your order is far beyond the nominal price.*

b) Inadequate deposit for purchase or inadequate share for sale via internet trading platform.

c) Transaction amount exceeds credit limit (not applicable for internet trading users)

d) An order is placed during inappropriate period.

What settlement procedure of securities trading should I pay attention to?

Ans: 

All stocks trading settlement need to be completed at the day of T+2. You must deposit sufficient amount (including total purchase amount and related trading fees) into one of our bank accounts as tabulated below:

Please notify us by fax before 9:30am on the day of T+2. For sale transaction, the net amount after deduction of all trading fees will be deposited into your bank account at the day of T+2.

 

2.

Can I transfer my stock held in CCASS system from other brokerage firm or bank into my account with Mayfair Pacific?

Ans: 

Your stocks can be transferred to our company account by electronic method once you return us your completed “CCASS settlement Instruction/investor settlement instruction form”.


3.

How can I withdraw my physical script?

Ans: 

Client can send us the completed “Securities Withdrawal Form” by fax (no. 3192 1168). After our approval notification, you can visit our company office in person with HK$5 per board lot plus HK$50 administration fee.


4.

What is the procedure of selling physical stock?     

Ans: 

In general, after the deposit of the physical stock with “transferee signature” at the back of the stock certificate, the stock will be shown on ledger in 2 working days for your stock selling via our MPTrader. If we have any doubts on the number of stock, we reserve the right of reject execution of stock selling and request for client deposit the physical stock into the MPFG custody account at least 10 days before selling in the market.

* If clients apply IPO through WHITE Application Forms, please verify the information on the share certificate(s) before selling the physical stock. If you have any queries, please contact our Client Service Hotline at (852) 3192 1110.


5.

What issues should be noted about the physical script withdrawal?

Ans: 

We only accept those share certificates with the name matches with the account holder(s).
