Dow Jones Industrial Average Index

Dow Jones Industrial Average Index (DJIA) is created by Charles Dow, a Wall Street Journal editor and Dow Jones Company co-founder. He put this index as a measure of industrial form of development in which is one of the oldest market indexes in the U.S. It includes 30 large, publicly owned companies based in the U.S. The value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index is the sum of the component prices divided by a divisor. Dow futures provide a way to efficiently gain exposure, with a mid-sized contract, to a key benchmark for the U.S. stock market. The futures are traded actively even in Asian time zone.The factors influence DJIA including corporate profits, U.S. economic data, stock price of constituents and etc.

S&P 500 Index

S&P 500 Index is a free-float capitalization weighted index that observes the 500 large capitalizations common stocks in the U.S. The stocks of these 500 companies are trading in New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ. The index has been market-value weighted that movements in the prices of stocks with higher market capitalizations have a greater effect on the index than companies with smaller market capitalizations. This index has high applicability, accuracy, continuity. Factors influence the index including U.S. interest rate, political factors, overall economy and etc.

NASDAQ

The NASDAQ composite index is a stock market index which reflects the changes in the NASDAQ stock market stock price. This index consists of Industrial, Technology, Retail, Telecommunication, Biotechnology, Health Care companies and etc. The constituents of NASDAQ composite index include fastest growing advanced technology, telecommunications and biotechnology companies. Factors influence the index including R & D projects, the demand of technology products and etc.

SGX Nikkei 225 Stock Index Average

Nikkei 225 is a stock market index which is a price-weighted average for the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It has been calculated daily by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper. It is a good indicator to observe the long term evolution of the Japanese stock market. Factors would influence the index including the exchange rate of yen, corporate profits, political policies and etc.

DAX

The DAX is a blue chip stock market index consisting of the 30 major German companies trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Factors would influence the index including European Central Bank (ECB) policy, the euro zone economy, corporate earnings and etc.

London FTSE 100 Index

The FTSE 100 index is a share index of the 100 most highly capitalization United Kingdom companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. FTSE 100 companies represent around 80% of the market capitalization of the London Stock Exchange. This index is an indicator to the economy of UK and it is one of the most important indexes in Europe. Factors would influence the index including popularity of political parties, the overall economy, interest rates and etc.

SGX Xinhua China A50 Index

Xinhua China A50 index is an index comprising the largest 50 ‘A’ Share companies such as Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China (A), China Merchants Bank (A), Citic Securities (A) and etc. It represents the performance of the mainland Chinese market that is available to ‘A’ share investors. Factors would influence the index including RMB exchange rate, Government policy, interest rate, required reserve ratio in banking system, corporate earnings and etc.

MSCI Taiwan Index

MSCI Taiwan Index has published since 1988. It is a combination of 91 shares of the capital-weighted index which includes large, medium and small business stock. Besides, it represents around 70% of market capitalization in Taiwan stock market. It is compiled by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI). It is widely used to measure the trends of Taiwan stock market.
